Promoting Your Blog on Squidoo
When it comes to getting visitors to your blog there are literally thousands of different things you could do.
One of the easiest (and most fun!) is to take advantage of free Squidoo Lenses.
A Squidoo Lens is a page you build on squidoo.com, about whatever you like. Think of it like writing a blog post or article, published on squidoo.com.
Google loves Squidoo, and using it to promote your blog is easy.
Here are some things you could do:
- Build a lens ‘About Blog Name‘. I have a lens ‘About SquidooCool.com’, and I use it to highlight some of my blog posts, link to the homepage, and tell people what it’s all about, etc.
- Use a Link Module to link to your blog on you related lenses. Google will find the backlink to your blog and your blog will benefit.
- Use the RSS Module to feed in your latest posts. Once you’ve set it up it will automatically display links to your latest blog posts, updated hourly.
- Join related groups in your niche. Squidoo members are web savvy people, and a lot of them have blogs themselves. Getting subscribers who also have blogs is GREAT for your blog!
- Use your Profile page (http://www.squidoo.com/member/profile) to link to your blog, in the External Links section. This put the link to your blog on your Lensmaster Profile page seen by anyone who clicks on your username
- Leave GOOD guestbook comments on lenses related to your blog. Don’t post you link, don’t spam, don’t post the same thing again and again on different lenses. Be real, be honest, and be unique. You want the lens visitors and lens owner to be interested in you enough to click your username.
